2007 BEMF production of Lully's opera Psyché
NEXT PERIOD PROGRAM
The 2009 operatic centerpiece will be Christoph Graupner's Baroque opera masterpiece "Antiochus und Stratonica: Lovesick" featuring Holger Falk and Gillian Keith in the title roles. The production will be led by Musical Directors Paul O'Dette and Stephen Stubbs, with Gilbert Blin as Stage Director, Lucy Graham as Choreographer, and Anna Watkins as Costume Designer. The internationally-acclaimed cast will include Tuva Semmingsen, William Sharp, Christian Immler, Marcus Ullmann, William Hite, and Amanda Forsythe.
In addition, the Festival will feature 14 concerts by the world's leading soloists and ensembles; public symposia on topics ranging from Baroque opera production to trends in instrument building; performance masterclasses and dance workshops; Family Day and youth education programs; and the world-famous Exhibition of instrument makers, music publishers, schools and universities, festivals and workshops, service organizations, and the BEMF CD Store.
